Information Sessions To Be Held In-Person and Virtually

Jefferson Community College (JCC) will host information sessions for select academic programs throughout March 2026. Prospective students are invited to attend either in person or virtually via Zoom. During each session, faculty from the respective programs will be available to answer questions about coursework, career opportunities, transfer options, and more. Some featured programs are SUNY Reconnect approved and may be tuition-free for eligible students.

On March 11, 2026, Jefferson will offer a Nursing Program information session from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ranked No. 2 in New York State by Nursing School Almanac, Jefferson’s Nursing Program features state-of-the-art simulation laboratories with lifelike, responsive mannequins and advanced clinical technology, including a birthing mother simulator.

On March 26, 2026, Jefferson will host an information session highlighting academic programs in Early Childhood, Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, Engineering, and Physical Education from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. SUNY Reconnect–approved programs are Childhood Education and Engineering.

“Attending a program information session is a great opportunity for prospective students to dive deeper into course offerings, career paths, and gain valuable insights directly from faculty,” said Chelsea Marra, director of admissions. “Students receive personalized attention and answers to their questions about classes, internships, and job opportunities from the professors who teach them, helping them make informed college decisions with confidence.”

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month, making it an ideal time for students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. At Jefferson, 82% of students receive financial aid, and many prospective students are surprised by how much assistance is available.

About Jefferson Community College

Established on November 7, 1961, Jefferson Community College was the area’s first institution of higher education. Supervised by the State University of New York (SUNY), Jefferson offers more than 50 associate degrees, certificates, and microcredentials for career preparation and transfer. The college also provides local access to bachelor’s and advanced degrees through partner institutions; lifelong learning through workshops and seminars; business and industry training; community-based research; forums for the productive discussion of ideas and regional issues through the Center for Community Studies; and cultural enrichment opportunities that serve the entire tri-county region—Fort Drum’s military installation among them. Jefferson, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, currently serves approximately 2,400 students, many of whom are service members and their families.
