Thomas A. Rohring

 

LOWVILLE - Thomas A. Rohring, 96, died early Saturday morning, December 17, 2026 at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Tom was born on July 5, 1929 in Rochester the son of the late Albert Henry and the late Doris (Norman) Rohring. He graduated high school in Rochester where Tom attended trade school. He served in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 20 years of service. Tom was employed by Barksdale Air Force Base, Bossier, LA as a Civil Engineer. 

 

He worked general maintenance on the air base, after retiring he worked in a machine shop retooling equipment for oil rig drilling. He also worked at Humana in Shreveport, La. Tom moved to Rochester N.Y.  Where he drove a school bus and did general maintenance for the Catholic Church. He later moved to Santa Cruz, California and worked in maintenance. He  retired from maintenance and moved to Mpls., Mn. where he lived with his son Robert. In  2019 he moved to Lowville N.Y.

 

He is survived by his three children, William T. (Elizabeth) Rohring; Robert H. Rohring; and Jessica (Harry) Koupas; his sister  Bernadette (“Jack”) Harrison and his brother, Jim (Kay) Rohring; several nieces and nephews.

 

Tom is predeceased by his son, David J. Rohring,  his brother, Richard Rohring, and his sister Alberta Sharp..
