He peacefully passed away and entered his eternal home  on January 24, 2026, after a year-long battle with cancer. He graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Iowa in 1984. After graduation, he worked at Fareway Grocery and then joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y. from 1986-1991, where he served as an Army Ranger at the rank of Sergeant. Following his service, he chose to make Northern New York his home and became employed by United Parcel Service in Watertown N.Y. He travelled all over the North Country during his 28 year career with UPS. His friendly demeanor and kind heartedness led to him developing lifelong friendships with many of his customers, and his work ethic and outgoing personality garnered respect and fostered friendships with his co-workers.

Shannon loved the beauty of a sunset, the view from a mountain top, and gazing on the waters of Lake Ontario and the gulf waters of Pensacola Beach, Florida. He loved fishing and spent a lot of time fishing while at his camp on Lake Ontario.  One of his greatest loves was music. It was a hobby that began as a young boy when he started collecting CDs, from all genres of music. He had an incredible ear for the intricacies in music, and he had encyclopedia-like knowledge of musicians and the culture surrounding music. He loved to attend live musical performances and spend time at their camp on Lake Ontario listening to music and dancing around the campfire with his wife and his camp friends whom he cared for dearly. Shannon loved the outdoors and being active. He regularly hiked, rode bike, and jogged during many periods in his life. One of Shannon’s most endearing character traits was his sense of humor. If you were around him for any amount of time, you were laughing at his quick wit and comical antics. He brought tremendous joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Most of all, Shannon loved his God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was compelled to share his faith with everyone he knew and would meet. His greatest desire was to see others find faith in a relationship with Jesus Christ.  It was his unwavering faith and positive attitude during his year long battle with cancer that inspired all who knew him.

Shannon’s dedication to his family was undeniable. As a loving father, he invested his whole heart, his time, his resources, and constant prayer into nurturing and supporting his five children from his first marriage to Heidi Lamb. In addition, he took on the role of a dedicated and loving grandpa and supportive step-father in his marriage to Sheryl.  Shannon was a devoted, loving husband and companion to her for the last ten plus years. Shannon’s impact on his family is unforgettable and leaves a lasting legacy of laughter, love, and faith.

Shannon is survived by his wife Sheryl Tuttle-Lamb of Carthage, NY and his five children: Tanner Lamb of Georgia, Trevor Lamb of Ohio, Gabriel Lamb of Iowa, Molly Lamb (fiance-Austin Garret) and Nathaniel Lamb (fiance-Hannah Williams) all of FL. He is also survived by his step children: Skyler (Tiffany)Tuttle of Lowville, Dana (Jared) Gaines of Copenhagen, and his step-grandchildren: Payten, David, and Charlotte Tuttle, and Annabella, Aria, Addison, and Jaxon Gaines. He is survived by his mother, Judy Appleby of Kansas, his stepmother, Betty Lamb of Iowa, father-in-law, William Bailey, Lowville and several siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Lamb, who passed away one day before him and step-father Charlie Appleby who died in 2017 and his mother-in-law, Barbara Bailey who died in 2023.

Funeral service will be held at River of Life Fellowship Church in Copenhagen, NY on Sunday, February 1, 2026, beginning with calling hours from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. before proceeding with a formal Celebration of Life program. All are welcome to stay for dinner following the service.
