AI-generated content may be incorrect.CROGHAN- Cynthia G. “Cindy” Austin, 70, of George Street, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Upstate Medical University Hospital, Syracuse.

 

Among her survivors are her children, Jason Walters and his wife JoAnn of Beaver Falls; Kristin Meade Johnson and her husband Sean Johnson of Beaver Falls; Ashley Meade and her husband, David Bugg of Madrid; five precious grandchildren that were Cindy’s whole world, Jenna Walters, Taylor and Cooper Johnson, Hope and Austin Bugg; her loving mother, Joanne Austin of Croghan.  She is also survived by many other family members. 

 

She was born on April 17, 1955, a daughter of the late Kenneth Austin; and Joanne Taylor Austin.  Cindy was a 1973 graduate of Beaver River Central School.  She raised her family and then drove bus for Beaver River Central School for many years.  Cindy went back to school for nursing at Glenfield BOCES.  She worked as an LPN at Lewis County General Hospital and local doctor’s offices for many years, until her retirement.  After her retirement from nursing, she drove for Birnie Bus.  Cindy enjoyed crafts, diamond painting, and staying at camp.

 

She was a member of Beaver Falls United Methodist Church.  Cindy was an active member and volunteer at Beaver Falls Fire Department for over 20 years.

 

At Cindy’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.  A private gathering will be held to celebrate her life at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Beaver Falls Fire Department, P.O. Box 456, Beaver Falls, NY 13305.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
