Cindy was born June 3, 1959 in Watertown, the daughter of the late Elwood Gates and Ruth Arlene (Nicholl) Waugh. She graduated from Copenhagen Central School, the Class of 1977, and later successfully completed studies for Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired from Samaritan Keep Home as a CNA, working in the adult day care program; for many years and after retirement, Cindy cared for the elderly, allowing them to continue to live safely in their homes.

She married Lawrence L. Lyndaker on July 13, 2012 in Croghan with his brother Rev. Bruce Lyndaker officiating. She and Larry made their home on William Street. Larry passed away on January 15, 2024

Cindy loved going to Martha’s Vineyard; she vacationed there with some of her sisters, and occasionally other family & friends, and with Larry. She enjoyed cruises, and trips to the Lancaster, PA area. Cindy loved western dancing, yet her interpretation of 'Wipe Out' was memorable.  She loved her grandbabies, and she easily earned the title of “favorite aunt” through her long-lasting relationships with her extended family.

Cindy was a member of Emmaus Bible Fellowship.

She is survived by her children: Whitney L. Waugh; Jennah H. Smith; Amanda L. Lyndaker; John A. (Alexis) Lyndaker and her grandbabies, Lincoln John and Liam Patrick Lortie; Mckenzie, Ryker, Olivia, and Chloe Barney; Clayton Lawrence and Cora Holly Lyndaker.  Cindy is also survived by her siblings: Aileen Waugh Robbins; Brenda Wilmot; Sue Mattis; Becky (Ronnie) Sullivan; JoAnn (Wilmer "Sonny") Lyndaker; Lorraine "Sam" Stewart; Sandy "Corky" (Phil) Adams; Tina (Thom) Stanford; Diane (Doug) Oliver; her sister-in-law, Shelley Waugh; by Larry's family: Bruce (Pam) Lyndaker, Fern Herzig, Emer (Kim) Lyndaker, Valerie (Bill) Bush, Anita Lyndaker, Barry "Joe" (Holly) Lyndaker, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Cindy's dear friend of more than 40 years, Tina Campany Johnson, also survives her.

Cindy is predeceased by her sister and her husband, Maggie (Honey) & Maurice Vary; her cherished brother, Donnie Waugh; her brothers-in-law, Richie Robbins, Bob Wilmot, Cliff Mattis, Jay Stewart, Doug Herzig and Mike Lyndaker.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 25th at the Croghan Mennonite Church, with Paul Cornell and Bruce Lyndaker, Pastors of Emmaus Fellowship, officiating. A light luncheon and fellowship will follow the service. Food may be dropped off at the church starting at 1:00pm on Sunday.

Memorials in Cindy’s name may be made to: Friends Of Lewis County Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367 or Charity of One's Choice.
