WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...For the
Winter Weather Advisory, snow expected. Total snow
accumulations 4 to 7 inches. For the
Winter Storm Watch, heavy
lake effect snow possible. Potential for
7 inches or more snow
accumulation in the most persistent lake
snows. Winds could gust
as high as 40 mph creating blowing and
drifting snow with very
poor visibilities.
* WHERE...For the
advisory, greatest snow accumulations will be
found across far southern Jefferson
County, southwestern Lewis
County and the eastern half of Oswego
County. For the Watch, The
Eastern Lake Ontario Region, especially
the Tug Hill Plateau.
* WHEN...For the
Winter Weather Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to
1 AM EST Sunday. For the Winter Storm
Watch, from Sunday evening
through Wednesday afternoon. Greatest
lake snow accumulations
expected Monday afternoon through
Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...The
hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening
commute with snow covered roads, while
lake snows within the watch
timeframe could lead to deep snow covered roads with difficult
travel.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS
ACTIONS...
Periods of snow
will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities.
Slow down and use caution while driving.
Submit snow
reports through our website or social media.
Narrow bands of
heavy snow could bring rapidly changing road
conditions and
visibilities. Localized travel problems will be
possible.
