...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST
FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy
snow. Additional snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet through tonight within the
most persistent lake snows. Additional general accumulations of 3 to 6
inches area expected Wednesday and Wednesday
night, with lake effect snow then expected to accumulate another 12 to 18
inches Thursday through Friday. Winds gusting as highs
as 35 mph creating blowing and drifting snow and at times white out
conditions. Snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour or higher in the most
intense part of the band through tonight.
* WHERE...The
Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest snow accumulations will be across
southern Jefferson County, extreme northern Oswego County, and Lewis
County.
* WHEN...Until 7
PM EST Friday.

IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult to nearly impossible within the
heaviest lake effect snowbands. The hazardous
conditions will
impact the morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds will down tree
branches and cause isolated power outages.
* ADDITIONAL
DETAILS...Lake effect snow band will slowly lift north tonight and weaken.
Widespread light snow overspreads the area Wednesday, and then another
round of accumulating lake effect snow is expected through Friday.
