TRI-COUNTY CROP CONGRESS EVENTS
Canton, NY January 28, 2026
Carthage, NY January 29, 2026
Crop Congress
events are educational seminars for field croppers and private and
commercial pesticide applicators in New York to receive re-certification
credits and continuing education units that are required to maintain DEC
pesticide applicator licenses and Northeast Region Certified Crop Advisor
credentials.
It has been three
years since Cornell Cooperative Extension hosted a Crop Congress event in
the region and the Tri-County Ag Team is excited to announce that the Crop
Congress is back! Experts from Cornell University will be presenting
information and updates from the latest agricultural research and current
land grant university guidelines for forage, nutrient, weed, and insect
pest management. Topics will include Silage Management and Managing
Forages After a Drought Season, an Update on Insect Pests in Field
Crops, an Update on Integrated Weed Management in Field Crops and
a presentation from the Cornell University Nutrient Management Spear
Program on the Value/Power of Manure. The events have been approved
for 2.0 DEC pesticide applicator credits for groups 1A (Agricultural
Plant), 21 (Field & Forage) and 3.5 CEUs for Certified Crop Advisors.
The first Crop
Congress will be held on January 28th, at the Canton Fire Station, 77
Riverside Dr. in Canton, NY and the second will be held on January 29th at
the Carthage Elks Lodge, 511 Fulton St. in Carthage, NY. Both events are
the same and are offered in both Canton and Carthage to make them
accessible for each region. Registration for the events is $25.00, which
closes on January 26th and includes lunch.
