AI-generated content may be incorrect.CROGHAN - Ralph Munger, 74, died late Tuesday afternoon on November 25, 2025 at his home under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

 

Ralph was born on January 8, 1951 in Herkimer the son of the late Roscoe H. and Dagmar (Schmiege) Munger. He attended school at South Lewis Central School. Ralph and Judy celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 25, 1975. Ralph married Judy A. Yousey at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Croghan.

 

Ralph loved being outdoors, working in the woods, logging, and his favorite, driving tractor trailer. After he retired, Ralph had to find something he enjoyed, so he worked for Lewis County and the DEC, working on the trail system.

 

He is survived by his wife, Judy, their three children, Conrad (Jennifer) Munger of Virginia; Rachael (Jerry) Dixon of Syracuse; and Emily (Dustin Houppert) Munger, Croghan; his two grandchildren, Reagan and Maura; his siblings, David Munger, Sandra Parker, Gerhard (Nancy) Munger; John (Judy) Munger; Monika (Jim) Koster; Kurt (Jeannine) Munger; Lisa (Hank Bair) Griffin; Emlyn (Bob) Light; and Brenda Evans; several nieces and nephews.

 

Ralph is predeceased by his two sisters, Linda L. St. Louise and Veronica Scharf, and his nephew, Joseph M. Griffin.

 

Ralph was a member of the Croghan Mennonite Church and he enjoyed hunting.

 

Calling hours for family and friends will be on Friday, November 28th from 5 to 8:00pm at the Croghan Mennonite Church.

 

Burial will be Saturday, November 29th at 10:00am at Croghan Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am at the church, with Pastors Paul Mast and Bruce Roggie officiating.
