Barbara A. Dunn

 

LOWVILLE - Barbara A. Dunn, 90 of Brookside Circle, died early Friday, November 21, 2025 at her home under the care of her care givers and Lewis County Hospice. Barbara was formerly of Brantingham.

 

Mrs. Dunn was born on March 8, 1935 in Lowville the daughter of the late Gerald L. and Catherine Mary (Howley) Carncross. Barbara attended country school District # 1, town of Watson, she graduated from Lowville Free Academy in 1952. She graduated from Strong Memorial Hospital School of Radiology in 1953. She married James B. Dunn on December 10, 1976 at St. Aloysius in Great Neck. Barb retired from North Shore Hospital, Manhasset.

 

She is survived by her two nieces, Patricia A. Reynolds; and Yvonne M. O'Halloran; her two nephews, William J. and Edward R. Reynolds.

 

She is predeceased by her husband, James; her sister, Mary Catherine Reynolds, her infant brother, Gerald, her nephew, Gerald S. Reynolds.

 

Barbara was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan.

 

A graveside service will be held at St. Stephens Cemetery in the spring and will be announced. Memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to: Friends Of Lewis County Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367; Port Leyden Ambulance, PO Box 67, Port Leyden NY 13433
