CROGHAN- Wanda Denise Roggie, 64, Briot Road, passed away at her home on
Friday October 17, 2025, under the loving care of her family and Lewis
County Hospice.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 22, 2025 at Croghan Mennonite Church with Pastors Paul Mast
and Greg Widrick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Calling hours are from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00
p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 21, 2025
at the church. Contributions may be
made in Wanda’s name to Care Net Pregnancy Center of NNY, 724 State Street,
Watertown, NY 13601 or Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P. O. Box 266,
Lowville, NY 13367.
Wanda is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Bruce John
Roggie (B.J.), three children, Aaron Widrick Roggie of Lowville, Lisa Marie
(Joshua) Moser of Carthage, Jason Wilbur (Amanda Zehr) Roggie of Croghan;
nine grandchildren, Eli, Ava, Seth, Eden, Ariana, Annabella, Anna, Abagail,
and Jaden; her siblings, Patti Ann Jantzi of Lowville, Kenneth R. Widrick
of Florida; Sandra Jean Gazda of Illinois; nieces, nephews and
cousins. She is predeceased by her
parents, and a sister Judy Marlene Dickinson.
Wanda was born on September 15, 1961, a daughter of the late Hilary
and Pearl Steria Widrick. She
graduated from Beaver River Central School in the Class of 1979 and
attended Howard G. Sackett Educational Center with a degree in
nursing. She worked in various
healthcare facilities and physician offices for 47 years. The last 20 years were at Lowville
Medical Associates with Doctor Lyndaker and Doctor Palmer, she retired in
2022.
Wanda was a very active member of Croghan Mennonite Church and a part
of the pastoral team.
She loved reading recipe books and trying out new recipes. Wanda also loved to bake. She enjoyed time with family and
friends. Wanda had compassion for
the sick and hurting. She was a foster mom to several
children. Wanda played a vital role
in establishing UCP houses in Lowville, NY.
