Loomis Firefighters Fund was established at the Community Foundation to

the region. The fund was established to honor Mr. Loomis, a Sackets Harbor
native, who was killed in the line of duty battling a local silo fire in
2010.
Garrett’s
firefighters fund supports an annual fire safety seminar presented locally
and featuring national, high-level expertise from career firefighters. The
fund has also directed grants to area fire training centers for a variety
of emerging training needs.
This grant
opportunity is made possible through support from gifts made to the Garrett
W. Loomis Firefighters Fund at the Community Foundation, as well as
individual contributions and community activities of the Garrett W. Loomis
Foundation.
