GLENFIELD- Helen E. Raymond, 87, of Sand Pond Road, Glenfield, passed away on Thursday
afternoon September 4, 2025 at her home, under the
loving care of her family and Lewis County Hospice.
A funeral Mass
will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 16, 2025
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenfield with Rev. Sony G. Pulickal, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be
held privately by the family. There
will be no calling hours. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are with Iseneker
Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
She is survived
by her four children and their spouses, Michael and Janette Raymond of Sand
Pond, Cynthia Robbins of Sand Pond, Christina and Scott Woolschlager of
Croghan, Andrew and Christine Raymond of Sackets Harbor; nine
grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a two brothers-in-law,
Shirley Hoppel of Castorland; Doris and Carl Hoppel of Castorland; Thomas
Tabolt of Lowville; a brother, Joe Kerfien of Glenfield; a sister-in-law, Carol
Kerfien; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her beloved
husband, William L. Raymond, who passed away on January 27, 2019; three
brothers, John, James, and Michael Kerfien; a sister, Rosemary Tabolt; a
sister-in-law, Kathy Kerfien; and a brother-in-law Robert “Zeke” Hoppel.
Helen was born August 3, 1938 in Lowville,
a daughter of the late Leonard and Gladys McLane Kerfien. She graduated from Father Leo Memorial
School, Croghan, in 1956. Helen
worked for the Richard Monnat family in Croghan doing domestic work before
her marriage. On October 13, 1956, she married William L, Raymond at St.
Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan with Rev. Louis Hamm, O.F.M.
officiating. She worked for Beaverite in Glenfield, AMF in Lowville, and Lally Mfg.
in Port Leyden, where she retired after 18 years.
Helen was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, Glenfield. She enjoyed
quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. She loved
porch sitting at her pond.
