A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Beaches Bridge Cemetery, Watson.  There will be no calling hours or funeral service.  Contributions may be made in Elke’s name to Lewis County Health System Fund For Hope, 7785 N. State Street, Lowville, NY 13367.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of over 54 years, Francis; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Hans and Suzanne Dicob of Castorland; three grandchildren, Sean; Jacob (Jessie); Kurtis and his wife, Daina and their son Killian; a brother, Harold (Gertrude) Kreutz of Germany; three sisters, Rita Kolk of Holland; Conny (Charlie) Driesch of Germany; Tina (Patrick) Kinnen of Germany; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by a son, Scott Michael Dicob, who died on January 25, 2010; and by a brother, Gunther Kreutz.

 

Elke was born on August 13, 1949 in Neidenbach, Germany, a daughter of the late Johann “Hans” Kreutz and Maria “Christina” Zimmer Kreutz.  She graduated from high school in Germany and attended college in Bitburg, Germany.  She met her future husband while he was serving with the U.S. Army in Germany.  On December 25, 1970, the couple was married at St. Stephen’s Church in Croghan, with Fr. Anthony Moore officiating.

 

Elke loved to go shopping, and to go out to lunch with friends.  She enjoyed her flowers.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.  Elke especially loved the babies.
