Lewis County Emerging Professionals to Host “Book Fair for Grown Ups”

A nostalgic night out with books, merch, and community connection at Lowville Free Library

Lowville, NY- Lewis County Emerging Professionals (EP) is putting a grown-up twist on a childhood favorite. The first-ever Book Fair for Grown Ups will be held on Thursday, September 18, from 6–8 p.m. at Lowville Free Library. Admission for the Fair is $5 and includes early access to the Library’s annual book sale, three books of your choice, and exclusive book fair–inspired merchandise and goodies. All proceeds will benefit the Lowville Free Library.

The Book Fair for Grown Ups serves as a kickoff to the library’s annual book sale, which features hundreds of books spanning every genre, from retired library titles to community donations. The sale will continue with public hours Saturday, September 20 through September 27. There will be no admission fee for the sale during the public hours. Donations of gently used books are being accepted at the library through Wednesday, September 17.

EP is a social group for local emerging and established professionals. They regularly host happy hours, networking opportunities, fundraisers for local non-profits, and community events. It was established 10 years ago as a capstone project for Lewis County Leadership Academy, and it continues to evolve ways of blending fun, philanthropy, and social events.

“We love seeing how people interact during the book sale — chatting, recommending titles, and finding a favorite author, whether for themselves or a friend who is browsing a couple tables over,” said Meghan Harney, Director of Lowville Free Library. “We expect the book fair is going to be a new level of fun, and are so excited to work with Lewis County EP to add to the book sale!"

For more opportunities to connect, visit www.lewiscountyep.com and follow EP on social media. Professionals of all industries and levels of experience are invited to join. Upcoming events include the Book Fair, monthly happy hours, and the annual holiday party which will also serve as a fundraiser for Office of the Aging's Santa for Seniors initiative.
