East State Street Bridge in Village of Lowville to be
Fully Closed for Repair Work Starting September 22 for One to Two Weeks

BRIDGE CLOSURE NOTICE REPAIRS BEGIN SEPTEMBER 22
LOWVILLE, NY- The Lewis County
Highway Department will close the East State Street Bridge over Mill Creek
in the Village of Lowville beginning Monday, September 22, 2025, for repair
work. The closure is expected to last 12 weeks, weather permitting.
Prep work took
place two weeks ago with a temporary traffic light in place. Crews will now
proceed with removing the old asphalt, repairing the concrete surface, and
repaving the bridge.
Access During
Construction:
DMV/BOE, Village DPW, Joans Gymnastics, and the
Liquor Store will remain accessible.
Barricades will be in place at both ends of the
bridge.
The Highway
Department asks travelers to use alternate routes during this closure and
thanks the community for their patience as these much-needed repairs are
completed.
