Laura J. Hutchins

 

LYONS FALLS - Laura J. Hutchins, 72, with her family by her side, died Tuesday evening, August 19, 2025, at Lewis County General Hospital.

 

Laura was born on February 2, 1953 in Lowville the daughter of the late Maturon L. "Tory" and  Evelyn Mae (Bradish) Bacon. She attended Lowville Academy and Central School. She married Russell Darrell Hutchins, Sr. in 1998 and the couple made their home on the River Road. Laura was a homemaker and loved baking and knitting.

 

She is survived by her husband, Russell, their children, Debby (Matthew) Lawhorne; Russell D. (Vicki) Hutchins, Jr.; her grandchildren, twins Eliza and Emily, Connor, Aden, Blake, Jaden, Russell, Gabrielle, Amelia, Hayle, Phoebe, Eian, Abigail, Victoria, and Damien, her great grandchildren; her siblings, Shirley Jaynes; Robert (Sandy) Bacon; Sharon Bacon; Nancy (Charles) Harris; Sherry (Gary) Genito; and her sister-in-law, Nathy Bacon; several nieces and nephews.

 

Laura is predeceased by her daughter, Amy Amber Bacon, her granddaughter, Tyra Overton, her sister, Sally (Raymond) Spencer, her two brothers, Gerald and Larry Bacon.

 

Laura enjoyed camping and fishing, and she had a deep love for her animals — especially her dogs, cats, and parrot. Most of all, “she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren"
