Lowville Jazz Orchestra’s August 20th Concert Changing Venue and Will be Held at Fairgrounds Pavillion

NOTE: The Jazz Band will be moving their concert Wednesday night at 7pm from the Village Park to the pavilion at the Fairgrounds.

 

LOWVILLE JAZZ ORCHESTRA END OF SUMMER CONCERT

 

The Lowville Jazz Orchestra, in the style of a big band or jazz ensemble will perform for the last time this summer on Wednesday, August 20 at 7:00 PM  in Veteran's Memorial Park. The Lowville Jazz Orchestra is a 20-piece ensemble of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, bass, and drums.  You will be treated to a variety of songs from the Big Band Era, as well as songs from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Movie themes and Patriotic songs are part of the Lowville Jazz Orchestra's repertoire.  Rocky's Theme, "Gonna Fly Now", Aretha Franklin's "Respect", The Beatles "Twist and Shout", "If I Only Had a Brain" from the Wizard of Oz, and pop songs such as "25 or 6 to 4" and "Build Me Up Buttercup" are just some titles the band performs. There is something for everyone's taste.  Several songs will feature a soloist.   The concert will bring to a close the Historic Lowville Village Band's Concerts held on Wednesday Nights. The playground is open for the kiddos and Moose Knuckles will be on hand from 6-8PM for a variety a food, desserts and drinks.  In Case of Rain the concert will be held at the fair grounds under the pavillion.
