Lewis County Youth Bureau Announces Funding Opportunities to Support Youth Programs and Services

THE LEWIS COUNTY YOUTH BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF:

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (YDP) FUNDS, YOUTH SPORTS & EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY (YSE) FUNDS, AND YOUTH TEAM SPORTS (YTS) FUNDS

The Youth Bureau is seeking applicants interested in offering service/program opportunities for youth during the Oct 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026 time period

 

Programs eligible for Youth Development Program funding must meet the criteria below:

·      Serve youth under 21 years of age.

·      Provide community-level services, opportunities, and supports designed to promote positive youth development.

·      Have a non-discrimination policy and not deny youth services based on ethnicity/race, political affiliation, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, physical or other disability, national origin, or any protected characteristic under local, state, and/or federal law.

·      Collect data, including participant demographic information, as required by OCFS in a manner that allows for accurate reporting of anonymized aggregate data.

·      Demonstrate competency in the areas of governance, monitoring and evaluation, partnership, and financial stewardship.

 

Programs eligible for Youth Sports & Education funding must meet the criteria below:

·      Provide physical recreation and/or sports activities for youth ages 6-17.

·      Operate in New York State.

·      Demonstrate basic competency in the areas of governance, monitoring and evaluation, partnership, and financial stewardship.

·      Have a child protection policy in place that includes adherence to local city, agency, school district, and state child protection guidelines.

·      Have the ability to collect registration data, including participant demographic information, as required by OCFS in a manner that allows for accurate reporting of anonymized aggregate data.

 

Programs eligible for Youth Team Sports funding must meet the criteria below:

·      Provide team sports activities for youth under age 18 in under-resourced communities.

·      Operate in New York State.

·      Demonstrate basic competency in the areas of governance, monitoring and evaluation, partnership, and financial stewardship.

·      Have a child protection policy in place that includes adherence to local city, agency, school district, and state child protection guidelines.

Have the ability to collect registration data, including participant demographic information, as required by OCFS in a manner that allows for accurate reporting of anonymized aggregate data.

Deadline for submission of proposals is Friday September 5th, 2025

 

Applicants may use one general application for all three of the categories and the Youth Bureau Advisory Board will decide which allocation area is suited best for the needs described.

 

Applicants have the option to present to the Youth Bureau on September 11th at 5pm in DSS conference room 1 before funding decisions are made. 5 minutes allotted for each presentation and applicants will not be judged differently if unable to make it.
