CCE Lewis County’s ‘Open Farm Day’ on August 9th to
Feature 12 Agricultural Farm Stops Throughout the County with Tours and
Activities

Come to Lewis County Open Farm Day and support your
local farmers!
 Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis
County is excited to announce Open Farm Day on Saturday, August 9, 2025,
from 10 am to 3pm. This annual event will include 12 Agricultural farm
stops throughout the county from Natural Bridge to Lyons Falls in, NY. Each
stop will have an educational aspect about their farm and how they operate,
grow, and produce their products. This agritourism event will allow
visitors of all ages to learn what Lewis County Agriculture has to offer
and invite people from all around to have a family fun-filled day. This day
will include food samples, farm tours, animal interaction, cheese processing tour and local products will be
available to purchase. So, pick up
your Open Farm Day brochure at the Lewis County Fair and/or a farm on the
tour and enjoy the day.

Cogumelo Mushrooms LLC- Learn how to
grow mushrooms, and purchase ready-to-fruit mushroom kits, produce and frozen
pasture raised-chickens and turkeys.

Hopenhagen Farm-Specializing in
lavender and hops with products to purchase.
·
Dani’s Daffodils-U-pick flowers or premade
bouquets available.
·
Moser’s Maple LLC – Visit a maple syrup operation
specializing in high quality maple confections in a 20-C kitchen.
·
Snyder’s Sugar Shack- Experience the
sweet side of farming on an operated NYS Grown & Certified and organic
maple business.
·
Shultz Family Cheese-See the grazing dairy
cows and purchase some fresh cheese curd.
·
O’Brien Family Farm-Tour the facility and taste some
samples of cheese curd and visit James Pond & Mr. Froggy.
·
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis County-Come see what we
have to offer with activities for kids, sample products and restrooms
available.
·
Colwell’s Farm Market and Garden Center-Visit the
greenhouses, purchase fresh baked apple cider donuts, vegetables, and corn
maze will be available weather permitting.

Autumn Ridge Goat Farm- Visit the
Nubian & Saanen dairy goat farm, purchase goat cheese, milk soaps &
lotions.
·
Golden Creek Farm & Apiary “The Bee Barn” - Visit a working honeybee farm with a
glass observation hive.
·
HumbleBee Farms – Visit a
hydroponic farm growing leafy greens, herbs, and root vegetables.
Open Farm Day
will be filled with farm tours, food sampling, animal interactions, and
products available to purchase. Each family must fill out a survey after visiting
a farm, this will allow you to receive a cooler bag to fill up with all the
purchases from your day.
