AI-generated content may be incorrect.LOWVILLE- Robert “Bob” Kafline, 69, of East Road Extension, passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 3, 2025 at Lewis County General Hospital with his loving family by his side.

 

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, officiating.  There are no calling hours.  Contributions in Robert’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. 

 

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 48 years, Pennie; three children, James (Misty) Kafline of Lowville, Jeffrey  Kafline of Lowville, and Jenna (Lucas) Tabolt of Milford, NH;  three grandchildren, Courtney (John) Russel, and their children, Iris and Jude; Hayli Kafline, and Natalie Tabolt; three siblings, Paul (Janice) Kafline of Lowville, Francis Kafline of Leesburg, FL, and Carolyn Widrick of Lowville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Butch Yousey.

 

Robert was born on January 26, 1956 in Lowville, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Wawrzyniak Kafline.  He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1974 and worked at Climax Manufacturing in Lowville for 30 years.  On July 30, 1977, he married Pennie M. Young at the Lowville United Methodist Church with Reverand Nay officiating.

 

Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing, garage sales, puttering around the house, bird watching, and old westerns.  He was a meat and potatoes man, and loved sweets, deer hunting, and demolition derbies.  He was also a member of the Lewis County Pool League for more than 20 years.  Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and his cat, Squirt.
