Lyons Falls ALIVE Farm and Craft Market to Feature Special Activities August 5th in Celebration of National Farmers Market Week

Celebrating Farmers' Market at Lyons Falls

AI-generated content may be incorrect.August 5, 2025, 11 am to 4 pm, Lyons Falls ALIVE Farmers' & Crafters Market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week with several activities. The market is at the Riverside Park, 6904 Laura St., Lyons Falls.

 

The market will provide free ice cream sundaes, provided by Stewart's Shops. Zoey Staring, the Lewis County Dairy Princess, and some of her court, will be serving the sundaes in the Auxiliary Building, starting at 11 :30 am until 2 pm.

Lewis County Office for the Aging will be giving Farmers Market Nutrition Program Coupons to those individuals who have not received theirs yet. They will be in a tent next to the bathroom from 11 am to 2 pm. Any questions on eligibility please call 315-376-5313.

 

The market will be providing FREE games, activities, and face painting for the kids. Face painting is from 12 noon to 2 pm.

 

Mohawk Valley Nursing Health System will be taking blood pressure in a tent near the auxiliary building.

 

Forest Presbyterian Church will be providing games and prizes in the playground area. They will also have a large free basket raffle; drawing will be at 3 pm.

 

The Lyons Falls Library will have a walking story book for the kids to enjoy along the path to the playground. The library is located at 3918 High St. Their hours are Tuesday & Wednesday 3 pm-7pm; Thursday & Friday 1 pm-5pm, Saturdays 8am-12pm.

 

The Lyons Falls Firemen & Auxiliary will have lunches for sale in the Auxiliary Building 11 :30 am to 2pm as they do every week during our market season.

 

Every week at the market booth, in the pavilion, we give away $4 "Coupon for Kids" to families with children at home. With these coupons, kids can purchase fruits and vegetables from our farmers. The coupons are good until September 30th, our last day of the season. The Coupons are provided by the market and a grant from the LEAD Council of the Northern New York Community Foundation.

 

Also, at the market booth there is a weekly free basket raffle, provided by Mary Ellen McManus. The drawings are at 3:30 pm. Any donations given for the raffle are given to Lyons Falls ALIVE's annual festival, specifically toward the fireworks. The festival next year will be July 4th.

 

Please join us August 5th for our celebration. Our market opened on June 10, and the end of the season will be September 30th. Please join us and join in the fun!
