LPD: Village Woman Facing Multiple Charges Following
Scuffle with Officers Attempting to Make Arrest for Protection Order

 The Lowville Police arrested a village
woman on Friday, July 18th after police investigated a report of an order
of protection violation. 22-year-old Julie Stanton was located at her
residence and was advised she was under arrest for communicating with a
protected party. As officers approached her, she lunged towards them and
attempted to remove one of the officer's handguns. She was then taken into
custody after a short scuffle and transported to the LPD station to be
processed.
Stanton was
charged with the following offenses:

Attempted Robbery 3rd
·
Attempted Grand larceny 4th
·
Attempted Criminal possession of a weapon 2nd
·
Resisting Arrest
·
Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd
·
Criminal Contempt 2nd
Julie Stanton was
arraigned in Lowville Town Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on
$7,500 cash bail, or $12,500 secured bond.
