DEC Announces Temporary Closure of Multiple State Forest Access Roads and Trails in Lewis, Jefferson, and Oneida Counties

Closures to Allow for Repairs and Tree Removal Following Recent Storm

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the temporary closure of multiple public forest access roads and trails due to impacts from a recent storm in Lewis, Jefferson, and Oneida Counties. These closures are necessary to accommodate repairs and tree removal following high winds.

Temporary closures include:

DEC continues to evaluate storm impacts that could affect public safety. DEC is assessing roads and State facilities in the region damaged by storm impacts and working to clear roads and trails, to allow for reopening.
