Beaver River Trap Team Provides Additional Details on
USA High School Clay Target League National Championship

 I’m ecstatic to announce that the Beaver
River Central School Trap Team claimed the title of National Champions at
the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship.
This past week 16
student athletes, their families, and 8 coaches attended the USA High
School Clay Target League National Championship in Mason, Michigan to
represent the Beaver River Central School Trap Team. All 16 athletes
competed in the individual competition, and 7 of those 16 represented
Beaver River in the team competition.
The team
consisted of Carson Kuhl, Kylee Grau, Ethan Clemons, Konor Moore, Lucas
Wilmot, Ely St.Croix,
and Jonas Largett.
Teammates that
shot in the individual competition included Abigail Eisel, Allison Meyer,
Ella St.Croix, Jameson Davoy, Jackson Flynn, Damon Bush, Hunter Monnat, Cole
Meyer, and Carter Eaton. Other BRCS Trap Team athletes who were
present for this experience included Mason Lee, Ace Davoy
and Michael Eisel.
On July 11th and
12th, both the team and individual shooters competed to qualify for the
finals. The team placed 42nd out of 264 teams, with only 80 teams
moving forward. Individual shooters that qualified for the finals included
Ethan Clemons, Konor Moore, Lucas Wilmot, Jameson Davoy
and Hunter Monnat. These 5 athletes had to place in the top 400 to move on,
out of 1,770 shooters. With that said, these shooters shot some of
their personal bests to get them to Championship Sunday.
Final
Championship Day, for both the team competition and the individual
competition, took place on July 13th. The team
competition kicked off the day and in their first round, the team shot a
perfect score of 125/125, which is a first in our
program's history. In their second round of 25, they
followed up with a 124/125, bringing their session one total to
249. During session two, which consisted of two rounds of 25,
they shot a 122/125 and a 123/125,
for a total of 245. That gave our team a final score of 494/500 and
the title of National Champions. Later in the day the
qualifying five shooters competed for the individual championship.
The results are as followed:

Konor Moore- 99/100 (42nd place)

Lucas Wilmot- 95/100 (246th place)
·
Ethan Clemons- 94/100 (283rd place)
·
Jameson Davoy- 89/100 (376th place)
·
Hunter Monnat- 82/100 (401st place)
Konor's
performance was especially remarkable as he missed just one target all day,
as he had already shot a perfect 100 for the team
in the morning.
This team and
program is led by a list of outstanding volunteer
coaches who dedicated their time and expertise to this program. Cody
O’Donnell has been the head coach since the formation of this team in 2015.
Standing by his side include Chuck Meyer, Travis Kuhl, Clancey O'Donnell,
Adam Monnat, Patrick Lee, Scott Glenn, Noah Simser, Kevin Meyer and John
Farney. This coaching staff goes above and beyond for this program and it doesn’t go unnoticed.
The Beaver River
Central School Trap Team represented their school, community and New York
State with such pride, dedication, sportsmanship and compassion. Every
single athlete on the team contributed to the success of this program and
