Lewis County Enhancement Calf Awards
For more than 40
years, countless deserving area youth have had the opportunity to fulfill
their dreams of exhibiting registered dairy and beef calves at the Lewis
County Fair. This longstanding tradition has been made possible thanks to
the generosity of the Dairy Industry Building and the local dairy
community, whose support through scholarships has enabled the purchase of
these animals.
Through a
detailed application process, youth as young as 10 years old can
demonstrate their readiness and commitment to raising and developing calves
to their full potential.
We are proud to
announce that the 2025 enhancement calves have been awarded to Adah
Boliver and Gail Clark. Congratulations to these
outstanding young individuals as they begin their exciting journey in the
agricultural community!
Adah Boliver
Tundra is a black
and white Holstein born on 9/15/24. Tundra is kept here on our own small
farm where we take care of our other show cows. I
would like to thank the Dairy Industry Building, Kraft, Lowville Producers
and 4H for giving me this opportunity to have my very own heifer. I would
also like to thank Lynn Stacy-Lyndaker and the Sherman family for helping
me with questions I had and helping me find Tundra. I have been working
with her and am excited to show her at the Lewis
County Fair.
Gail Clark
Lima is a Brown
Swiss born on 12/23/24. Lima is
housed on our family farm. I would like to thank Molly Scoville, Melvin
Phelps, and Lynn Stacy-Lyndaker for helping me with my journey to show my
calf!
