He is survived by two brothers, Gerald (Verna Mae) Boshart of Clarence Center, NY and Clifford Boshart and Darlene of Turin; a brother-in-law, Joseph M. Widrick of Lowville; a sister-in-law, Sharon Boshart of Lowville; and many nieces, nephews,  and cousins.  Richard was pre-deceased by two older brothers, Wayne E. Boshart, and Harold L. Boshart; a sister, Shirley A. Widrick; and a sister-in-law Connie (Joslin) Boshart.

Born December 30, 1937 at home in Great Bend, a son of Clayton & Florence (Bast) Boshart. He attended local school until he was ten years old and then went to Rome State School where he learned according to his abilities and was taught a trade.

Richard worked for 14 years at the House of the Good Samaritan in Watertown in housekeeping. He was very well liked by his supervisors, who often commented about what a good worker he was. He had worked under the ARC program in Turin and Lowville, doing a variety of jobs until his death. Richard had been a very conscientious worker and took great pride in his jobs.

His family was very important to him. Richard was very proud to be an uncle to his nieces and nephews. Spending time with his family at get-togethers and holiday events were his favorite moments.  Richard enjoyed setting up his own miniature golf course and spent hours playing golf. He also enjoyed cross-country skiing and taking pictures. In the past, Richard had two dogs, Dusty and Pepper. He had been able to experience many wonderful outings and special events with his ARC friends and staff.  He has been such a special member of our family and will be greatly missed.

Richard was an active member of  First Mennonite Church, New Bremen. His church family was also very important to him and he enjoyed greeting his church friends and family with a hearty handshake. Richard was a dedicated Christian and faithfully had a devotional time with God, reading his Bible and taking notes.

Richard’s family would like to express their deep appreciation for all the people in the ARC who have touched his life in such positive ways through the years. They are also his family.

Condolences to Richard’s family may be made online at www.isenekerfuneralhome.com.
