AI-generated content may be incorrect.MARTINSBURG - Fred J. Clark, 84 died peacefully on Friday afternoon, June 6, 2025 under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

 

As per his wishes there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday, June 11th at 11:00A.M. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Ojouk, Parochial Vicar officiating. All are welcome to a luncheon at the Lewis County Marine Corps League - Farney Hall, 7429 State Route 12.

 

Fred was born on May 12, 1941 the son of the late Burdette H. and Hazel P. (Rupert) Clark at home in Turin where he grew up on the family farm. He attended General Martin High School. Fred left high school before his senior year because of family medical reasons. He later went on to receive his GED. Fred was united in marriage to Norma J. Petrovitz on October 9, 1965 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Rev. L. William Gordon, officiating. Fred was a life-long farmer. He and Norma purchased the Clark family farm and later worked on local farms.

 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma, their four children, James F. (Patricia) Clark of Davidson, NC; Joel L. Clark of West Leyden; Cristina J. (Joshua) Reno of Bellbrook, OH; and Cathi J. (Yakini) Johnson of Fairborn, OH; his eight grandchildren, Bridget, Kathleen, and Erin Clark of NC; Damian (Heather) Clark of Lowville; Connor Clark of West Leyden; Aiden and Emily Reno of Bellbrook, OH; Lia Johnson of Fairborn, OH; two great grandsons, Maverick and Watson Clark; his sister, Irene H. Hartley of Lyons Falls; his sister-in-law, Betty A. Davis (Glen), his brother-in-law, Bill (Carol) Petrovitz, several nieces and nephews.

 

He is predeceased by his, daughter-in-law, Jane M. (Pocchiari) Clark, his sister and her husband, Margaret (Richard) Krug, his brothers-in-law, Arleigh G. Hartley, and Wayne C. Davis.

 

Fred was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and he enjoyed gardening.
