AI-generated content may be incorrect.HARRISVILLE, NY - Carl J. Clark, 81, of State Rt. 812, Harrisville, passed away at Upstate University Hospital on Thursday, June 19, 2025, where he had been since being admitted on June 11th.

 

Carl was born Sept 10, 1943 in Watertown, NY, the son of the late Carl A. and Margaret M. Downing Clark. He graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1961. Through his high school years he worked setting pins in the basement of the Methodist Church and also for Jim Scanlon doing various jobs.

 

He married Cheryl A. Conklin on October 22,1966 in the St. James Catholic Church in Gouverneur, NY.

 

After graduating he started his career with Tree Preservation for ten years and then worked for and retired from Kraft Foods in Lowville after 25 years of service.

 

Carl loved his family and treasured his time picking on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved going to the stock car races, wood working in his garage shop and providing support and friendship to his peers in AA.

 

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, and their four children Dan (Mia) Clark, Julie (David) Kiggins, JoAnne (John) Stott, all of Harrisville, and Nelson (Sandra) Clark, of Salvisa, KY; his grandchildren, Lindsay (Matt) Gibson, Davienna (Jordan) Hadfield, Gavinn (Veronica) Kiggins, Dakota Clark and Schae (Nate) Shawver-Clark; his great grandchildren, Seth, Liam, Iris, Briella and one due January 2026. Also surviving are his sisters, Margaret Yaw and Harriet (Darrell) Best, all of Harrisville, and many nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held July 3, 2025 from 1–4 p.m. at Harrisville Firehall. No other services will be held.

 

Donations in Carl’s memory can be made to the Harrisville Volunteer Rescue & Fire Department.
