NORTH COUNTRY LIBRARY SYSTEM SUMMER LIBRARY ADVENTURE
RETURNS
Art theme puts a new spin on a regional program
The North Country Library System’s Summer
Library Adventure is back with a brand-new theme: Color Our World. The
self-directed program, which begins June 22, encourages people to create
art over the summer.
Participants
complete at least one art prompt per week from the Summer Library Adventure
Checklist to be entered to win a prize. The checklist is geared toward a
variety of ages and skill levels so that everyone can join in.
NCLS Youth
Services and Outreach Coordinator Katie St. Laurent says, “We're super
excited about this year's theme! Just like libraries, art is for everyone,
and libraries are perfect spaces for people to express themselves and try
something new. Plus, this program is a great fit for people who want to get
involved with their libraries over the summer but might not always be able
to make it to scheduled programs or events.”
Completed
checklists must be returned to a participant’s home library by Tuesday,
September 2, or mailed to the North Country Library System by Friday,
September 12.
Printable
checklists and additional details about the Summer Library Adventure can be
found at ncls.org/summer.
Ten winners will
receive an enameled pin of the iconic NCLS cat; four winners will receive a
$25 gift card to Michaels, and one grand prize winner will receive the pin,
a $50 gift card to Michaels, and a three-month Creativebug
membership. Winners will be drawn at random and notified in mid-September.
Questions can be
directed to Angela Newman at anewman@ncls.org.
