Lowville, NY- Overall, Lowville saw above average mean average temperature and precipitation during May, according to weather data compiled from the Northeast Regional Climate Center (dating back to 1893).

 

May finished with a mean average temperature (cumulative highs and lows) of 55.0 degrees in Lowville, 0.50 degrees above the normal mean average temperature for May in Lowville of 54.5 degrees. In terms of ranking, it tied as the 59th warmest May on record. The warmest May on record for Lowville occurred in 1911 with a mean average temperature of 61.3 degrees, with the coldest May on record occurring in 1917 with a mean average temperature of 47.5 degrees for the month. The highest temperature of the month last month reached 83 degrees on May 17th. The lowest temperature recorded last month was 36 degrees on May 1st, which was the third highest low temperature for the month of May- trailing only last year’s lowest May temperature of 38 degrees and 2019’s lowest May temperature of 37 degrees.
