June is Dairy Month,
and the Lewis County Dairy Promotion Program is excited to announce that
they are partnering with The Lowville Cheese Store to collect donations
towards purchasing milk for the Lowville Food Pantry.
When you are
checking out, just tell the employee at the register to ROUND UP!, or drop some money into the donation box in the
store. You are supporting your
neighbors and the dairy farmers when you do. In early June, our Lewis
County Dairy Princess will be greeting customers at the Lowville Producers
Cheese Store to bring awareness to this campaign, and later in June the
Dairy Princess will be at TOPS with a donation box to accept
contributions. Good Ol’ Wishy’s in Croghan will
have a donation box available for the whole month of June.
The Dairy
Promotion Program has named this initiative “Fill the Bucket with
Milk.” For the month of June at
Lowville Producers Cheese Store, you can make a difference with just a few
cents. Here’s how it works. When you reach the checkout, say “I’d
like to round up!” Your total will be rounded up to the nearest dollar, and
the difference will be donated to the Lewis County Dairy Promotion
Program’s “Fill the Bucket with Milk” fund.
100% of the contributions go directly towards providing fresh milk
for families in need through the Lowville Food Pantry. Every little bit counts! Your spare
change can turn into glasses of milk for others.
