Registration Open for Brantingham Community Association’s Boating and Personal Watercraft Safety Course Taking Place June 12th and 13th

Boating & Personal Watercraft Course June 12th & June 13th 2025

 

The Brantingham Community Association Inc. will be hosting a Boating & Personal Watercraft safety course. The course will be held Thursday June 12th and Friday June 13th from 4:30PM to 9:00pm at the Howard G. Sacketts Center  (BOCES) 5836 State RT 12 Glenfield, NY 13343. Attendees must attend both dates. The class room is located behind the main complex in the unattached building. Parking is on the side and students can enter through the side doors facing the parking lot.

 

 Student MUST attend both dates and pass an exam. To operate a Personal Watercraft (jet-ski) you have to be at least 14 yrs of age and pass the safety course.

 

All registrants for this event must be 10 years of age on the first night of the course.

This 8-hour course is an introduction to the basic principles of safe and responsible boating. Students successfully completing this course earn a safe boating certificate. To help ensure New York’s waterways remain safe and enjoyable, this course teaches basic boating skills and encourages common sense and courtesy to all who share the water. Topics covered include rules of the nautical road, required safety equipment, special boating related activities and many more.

 

Effective January 1st 2025 any operator of a power-driven vessel must have a valid boater’s certificate regardless of age.
