Constableville- Thomas W.
Markham, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his four children on
Sunday, April 6, 2025.
He was born
on September 22, 1950 at Sunset Nursing & Maternity
Home, Constableville, NY. A son of John and Mary
(Payne) Markham. He grew in Highmarket
and attended South Lewis School. In 1969 he married Carol Randall and together had four children. In 1970 he enlisted into the
United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He did his basic training
in Fort Knox, Kentucky and then to Fort Monmouth, NJ for electrical
training, from there he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska at Fort
Wainwright working in the telecommunications center. After the Army he was
employed at Georgia Pacific, which became Lyons Falls Pulp & Paper.
While working at the mill he also had his own automotive business on the
side. He decided to make it his career, owning and operating Tom’s Auto
Service until retirement.
Tom enjoyed many
different things in his life. The automotive industry being one of his favorites. Most of which he learned spending time and working with his Uncle Ray. Then
passing his trade and knowledge onto his son Thomas. He loved spending his
time at his son’s repair shop, talking and learning about what his son and
grandson were working on. Tom was interested in new technologies and
advancements in the industry even after retirement. He loved dinners or
breakfast with his family. Tom loved to call and check-in with his family,
whether it was calling his daughters to see what was new or calling his
grandsons to talk baseball. Suzanne’s children and grandchildren were also
a special part of Tom’s life and enjoyed spending
time with him at his home. He was also loved by a special buddy, his
great-nephew Asher, who would spend time visiting on Fridays. Toms four
children would like to extend their love and gratitude to Suzanne for her
love, care and companionship that she gave to their father throughout so
many years.
Tom is survived
by his long-time partner, Suzanne Martin; his brother, John (Chris)
Markham; his children, Penny (Steve) Worlock, Michelle Markham (Darin
Tuttle), Tammie (Chris) Platt and Thomas (Katie) Markham; 5 grandchildren,
Steven Worlock (Maisie Grenier), Rachael Worlock (Joey Pettinelli), Maddox
