AI-generated content may be incorrect.BOONVILLE - Chris Raymond Norton, 73, formerly of Shady Avenue, Lowville, a resident of Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died early Monday morning, March 31, 2025 where he was under comfort care.

 

Chris was born on January 25, 1952 in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Edward Raymond and Bertha Hope (Robinson) Norton. He went to Glenfield Elementary and graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School. He worked at Ver’s Restaurant as a cook for a short time.

 

He is survived by his two sisters, Linda (Will) Hellinger and Cheryl Rowsam; his special cousin, Eva Widrick; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Nancy Szijarto (Mike Grover).

 

The funeral will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 3rd at Sundquist Funeral Home with Bruce Chapman, retired minister officiating. A calling hour will be from 12 noon until time of the service. Private burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.

 

Chris loved doing art work, in the warmer months he could be found outside taking pride in his roses and bleeding hearts. He enjoyed Elvis, most recently he became a country music fan. Chris was known for being kind, and having a gentle caring soul.

 

The Norton family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Sunset Nursing Home for their compassion and wonderful care that they gave him while he was there. We know Chris cared a lot for his Sunset family.
