Absentee and Early Vote Ballots Available for South
Lewis School District Residents for Upcoming Budget Vote and BOE Election

Absentee and Early Vote Ballots Available
Absentee ballots
will be made available for South Lewis district residents who will not be
in the district on the day of the vote Tuesday, May 20, 2025, who may be
unable to travel to the polling place due to health reasons. Also, any
military voters, as defined in section 122.2(f) of Commissioner’s
Regulations, who are qualified voters of the school district, may receive
an absentee military ballot. An application must be filed by any eligible,
qualified voter who intends to vote by absentee ballot. A qualified voter
may request an application for an absentee ballot by sending a written
request to the District Clerk at the South Lewis Central School District
Office, P.O. Box 10, Turin, NY 13473, or by contacting the District Clerk
at (315) 348-2514. A military voter may indicate their preference for
receiving the application either by mail, facsimile transmission, or
electronic mail. Early voting ballots will be made available to residents
who are qualified voters of the South Lewis district who wish to vote early
in a school election. Early vote applications and more information can be
obtained online on the Lewis County Board of Election site https://elections.ny.gov/request-ballot , or by
contacting the District Clerk as stated above. If the absentee or early
vote ballot is to be mailed to the voter, applications for absentee and
early vote ballots must be received by the District Clerk at least seven
days before the vote (Tuesday, May 13, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. prevailing time).
If the absentee or early vote ballot is to be
delivered personally, the application must be submitted to the District
Clerk by the day before the election (Monday, May 19, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.
prevailing time). All absentee and early vote ballots must be received by
the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 20, 2025, prevailing
time. A listing of all persons to whom an absentee
or early vote ballot was issued will be available for inspection by any
qualified voter in the office of the District Clerk between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. through May 21, 2025, except on Saturday, Sunday,
or a holiday.
