SACKETS HARBOR- Thomas F. “Tom”
Bryant, 77, of Campbells Point Dr., passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
He is survived by
his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Sandra; a daughter, Jennifer Bryant
Ulrich of Carthage; two granddaughters, Grayce Alexander Bryant Ulrich and
Lauren Baker Bryant Ulrich of Carthage; two brothers, William “Bill” Bryant
of New Hartford and Peter Bryant (Christine Olszewski) of Ajijic, Mexico; three nephews, Peter (Kate) Bryant,
Paul (Jillian) Bryant, and Thomas Bryant; and niece Ashley (Larry) Lewin.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Richard Ulrich II;
and a sister-in-law, Rita Bryant.
Tom was born on
July 3, 1947 in Fulton, NY, the son of the late
Paul Edward and Jeannette Baker Bryant. He graduated from Fulton High
School and furthered his education at St. Lawrence University, graduating
in 1969, obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics/Math.
On June 7, 1969 he married Sandra Parish at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Fulton, NY. Tom taught physics and coached
at Adirondack High School for two years before becoming co-owner and
co-operator of Phase 4 Builders in Turin. He retired in 2014 after 40
years.
Tom was always
working on a project for someone, from building furniture for his
granddaughters, to helping all his “extended family” members at Campbell’s
Point, to just plain helping anyone who asked for almost anything! He loved
reading, cooking, bridge, boating, shooting and just about anything to do
with family and friends. A best friend to his daughter, he was her ”go to” for everything. Tom loved to
banter with his family and often got into great debates and cook-offs with
his brother Bill and “brother” Joe. Tom was a Presbyterian with
strong beliefs and talked often about the value of a solid spiritual
foundation. Additionally, Tom was a mentor and teacher to many and
will be dearly missed by all those whose life he touched and enriched in so
many ways. He never failed to see the best in everybody, never judged or
held a grudge.
Tom was always
content and happy in his life and epitomizes the phrase,
"He needed little, gave much, and wanted for nothing.”
A celebration of
life will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Friday April 4th, 2025
at the Carthage Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
Tom’s name may be made to: The Carthage Bridge Builders in C/O Wendy LaFave
at Carthage High School 36500 State Route 26, Carthage NY 13619. Tom’s late
son-in-law Richard, cofounded Bridge Builders and Tom took a special
interest in supporting the program and its mission. It is a
program at Carthage High School that promotes and provides opportunity for inclusion for adults
persons with disabilities, to connect and interact with each other and the
world around them.
