Congresswoman Elise Stefanik will no longer be headed to the United Nations
as the next U.S. Ambassador.
In a Truth Social
post this afternoon, President Donald Trump announced he was pulling her
nomination to the position due to the “very tight” Republican majority in
Congress, noting that “there are others that can do a good job at the
United Nations.”
“With a very
tight Majority, I don’t want to take a chance on anyone else running for
Elise’s seat,” the President said in the post (the full post is included
below).

It was via a
November 11 Truth Social post that President Trump announced
Congresswoman Stefanik’s nomination to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the
United Nations in his administration.
Congresswoman
Stefanik has served as Lewis County’s representative in Congress for the
last decade, first elected to the position in 2014 and easily won
re-election to another two-year term in November. She served in a
leadership role as the Conference Chair for the Republican party majority
during the last session of Congress.
