Lowville Sees 6th Snowiest January on Record with Overall Temperature Slightly Above Average

Lowville, NY- Overall,
Lowville saw temperatures slightly above average last month, according to
weather data compiled from the Northeast
Regional Climate Center (dating back to 1893), with slightly
below average overall precipitation- while recording the 6th highest snow
total for the month of January on record.
January finished
with a mean average temperature (cumulative highs and lows) of 18.3 degrees
in Lowville, a full degree above the normal mean average temperature for
January in Lowville of 17.3 degrees. In terms of ranking, it was the 51st
warmest January on record. The warmest January on record for Lowville
occurred in 1932, when the mean average temperature for the month was 30.6
degrees. The coldest January occurred in 1994, when the mean average
temperature was just 3.9 degrees for the month. The highest temperature of
the month last month reached 43 degrees on January 1st. The lowest
