Valentine’s Day for Local Nursing Home and Assisted Living Residents with
Gifts

Valentine Gift Delivery
Caring Friends of
the Community” wrapped Valentine gifts for nursing home and assisted
living residents throughout the area. We visited five locations and gave
out about 300 gifts. We received many thanks and big smiles from the
recipients! It was hard to know whose hearts were touched more…residents or
those handing out gifts!
This project took
a lot of teamwork by Caring Friends! The early stages of this
outreach consisted of shopping for gift items, writing Valentine cards and
sorting and wrapping the gifts. The final step was the delivery to
locations and visiting with residents as gifts
were handed out. This all led to a very successful event!
A special “thank
you” goes out to everyone who dropped items into the shopping cart at Dollar
General or delivered items to Linda's house.
Caring Friends of
the Community has been visiting nursing homes with
Christmas gifts since the mid 1990's, [then named Parish relations]. However over the past 20+ years this outreach is done
for Valentines Day.
