Attention Community
Members, Organizations, and Stakeholders,
Lewis County and
its municipalities are in the process of updating the 2020
Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). This critical tool helps
us identify and address natural hazards—such as floods, severe storms, and
winter weather—so that we can proactively reduce risks, protect lives, and
strengthen our community.
Maintaining an
updated HMP is also crucial for ensuring eligibility for FEMA’s Hazard
Mitigation Assistance (HMA) funding, which supports projects aimed at
reducing the impacts of disasters and enhancing public safety.
The success of
this effort relies on meaningful input from stakeholders like you. Your
feedback will help ensure the plan addresses the unique challenges and
needs of Lewis County’s residents, businesses, and organizations.
