WATSON – Everett George
Burdick, 92, passed away on Sunday morning, January 26th at
Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility.
Everett was born on September 26, 1932
at the Lewis County General
Hospital
the son of the late Eli Albert and Myrtle Neil (Rudd) Burdick. He grew up
in the Glenfield area before serving three years in the U.S. Marine Corps
on the aircraft carrier USS Leyte. He returned to the area and married Anna
Albertson Kostrub on June 29, 1957. He worked for 39 years and
retired from Carthage Machine Company. Everett and Anna lived in Watson for
67 years until failing health. They were able to
continue living together at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility.
Everett enjoyed spending
time with family and friends, especially playing cards. He was an avid
hunter and liked fishing in his younger years. Everett and Anna traveled on
many trips around Europe and the US, and
they loved cruises.
He leaves behind
his wife, Anna, of 67 years, a daughter and
son-in-law, Chris and Bud Hall of Lowville; a son, Warren of Lowville; a
daughter-in-law, Patricia Kostrub of Glenfield; a
brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Darlene Burdick of Glenfield; a
sister-in-law, Linda Burdick of Glenfield; five grandchildren and two step
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
He is predeceased
by his stepson, Steven Kostrub, and his brother,
David Burdick.
Everett was a life
member of, Lewis County Memorial Post #6912
V.F.W., a member of Marine Corps
League Det. #754, and No. 4 Hunting Club. He was a member of Glenfield
United Methodist Church.
There will be no
calling hours. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
The family would
like to say a special thank you, to Amy Malbouf, for
her homecare, enabling Everett
to stay home as long as possible.
Thank you, to all the staff at Lewis County Residential Health
Care Facility for their special care they give.
Also, a thank you, to Lewis County
General Hospital,
for the care during ER visits, admissions, and to Lewis County Search and
Rescue for fast response when called.
