Advancing Cycling
and Bike Education and Safety
Proceeds from
these events will help fund the Adirondack Foothill Cycling Club’s
essential community initiatives, including:
The All-Kids Bike
Program: Teaching children, including those with additional support needs,
how to ride bikes and build confidence on two wheels. Last year, we helped
40 young people learn how to ride bicycles.
Cycling and Bike
Safety and Advocacy: Programs like the partnership with the Lowville Free
Library and the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® at the Lewis County
Fairgrounds promote safe cycling practices and awareness.
Why Cycling and
Bike Education and Safety Matters
Helping kids
learn to ride bikes and advocating for bike safety is essential in rural
areas like the North Country of New York. These skills build confidence and
independence and foster a lifelong appreciation for outdoor activity,
creating a healthier and happier community. Furthermore, in regions with
country roads and minimal bike infrastructure, promoting safety awareness
helps prevent accidents and ensures that cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers
can share the road responsibly. By empowering young riders with the skills
and knowledge they need, we create safer, more connected communities for
everyone.
