Obituary: James Arthur Hellinger, Sr., 66, Lowville

James Arthur Hellinger, Sr.

Description automatically generatedJames Arthur Hellinger, Sr., 66, of Railroad Street in Lowville, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

 

Mr. Hellinger was born on January 7, 1958 in Lowville to the late Leo and Elizabeth Rose (Smith) Hellinger. He graduated from Lowville Academy, Class of 1977.

 

On June 16, 1984 he married Angila Werley in Lowville. He enjoyed his many years working as a farmer. James loved hunting, fishing, and working on vehicles. He had a passion and talent for wood working.

 

Mr. Hellinger is survived by two sons, James Hellinger, Jr. and his companion Shanna Roberts and Parker Moyer; his brother, William and Linda Hellinger, and his two sisters, Carol Comins and Luanne and Kevin Merry. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Madison, Liam, Mason, Olivia, Gavin, Layne, Abigail, Trinity, Kendra, Devon, Sadie, and several great grandchildren.

 

James is predeceased by his parents, his wife, his son, Justin, four brothers, Peter, Henry, Leo, Randy, and three sisters, Linda, Donna, and Katherine.

 

His family would like to send a special Thank you to his long term home health nurse, Carey Alfano, for all she has done for him over the years.

 

Calling hours for family and friends will be on Saturday, November 9th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Sundquist Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Lowville Rural Cemetery 1:30pm.
