Lowville, NY- Following an
executive session at the conclusion of Wednesday’s regular meeting of the
Village of Lowville Board of Trustees, the Board went back into session and
appointed Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Wendy Snowden as interim Clerk/Treasurer.
According to
Mayor Joseph Beagle, Clerk/Treasurer Brittany Vinette approached him just
before Wednesday’s meeting to tender her resignation to accept a position
elsewhere, effective immediately with no notice period to the village.
The Board of
Trustees went into an executive session to “discuss personnel matters” at
the end of their meeting Wednesday, emerging to officially appoint Ms.
Snowden as the interim Clerk/Treasurer to fill the vacancy created by Ms.
Vinette’s resignation. Ms. Snowden has worked for the Village for over 16
years, according to Mayor Beagle, filling the role of Deputy
Clerk/Treasurer for many years.
Ms. Vinette had
served as Clerk/Treasurer since her official appointment during a special
meeting of the Board on February 13, 2024, at the time taking over for interim
Clerk/Treasurer Pam Roes, who had been filling the role since the
resignation of former Clerk/Treasurer Danielle St. Louis on August 23,
2023.
Mayor Beagle said
the Village is currently working on the process to search for a new Deputy
Clerk/Treasurer to fill Ms. Snowden’s previously held position.
