Sheriff’s Office Searching for Missing Person in Town
of Watson

UPDATE
(October 17, 2024 at 08:00 a.m.): Mr. Johnson was
found deceased late Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area in the town of
Watson, according to the Sheriff’s Office. His dog was found in good
health. No further information has been provided at this time.
 The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is
actively searching for 39-year-old Cody M. Johnson, who was reported
missing the afternoon of Sunday, October 13, 2024. Cody was last seen at a
residence on outer Number Four Road in the Town of Watson at about 2:30
a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Cody made a phone call at about 11:30
a.m. on Saturday, October 12, which is the last known contact with him.
Cody's dog is also missing, which is a white pit bull with black and white
harness. Cody is a white male, 6'2", 195 lbs., with short brown hair,
last seen wearing blue jeans and black sweatshirt with red lettering and black
boots. Cody may be on foot walking in the area, which is heavily wooded.
New York State Forest Rangers are assisting with the search. If anyone has
information on Cody's whereabouts please contact
