GLENFIELD – It is with
deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra K. “Sandy” Dolan, 75,
of Deforest Avenue in Glenfield, who passed away suddenly after a brief
illness on Sunday September 29, 2024 at her home
surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on
August 3, 1949 in Constableville, NY, a daughter of the late Stephen and
Phyllis (Jones) Youngs and graduated from South Lewis High
School with the class of 1967. On February 10,1968, she married Frederick
A. Dolan. Fred and Sandy were
married for more than 31 years before Fred passed away on November 7, 1999. Sandy is survived by her three children,
Lawrence (Jennie) Dolan of Huber Heights, OH; Kathy Ann Hayduk (O’Neil Fry)
of Titusville, FL; and Michael Dolan (Morgan Baslow) of Turin; nine
grandchildren, Tori (Chris) Beaman, Kaitlyn Hayduk (Connor Dorsino), Blake Dolan (Mikayla Estrada), Haley Dolan
(Blaine Hoffman), Landon Dolan (Mandie Duvelow),
Jade (Dublin) Moore, Anthony Dolan, Aubery Carr, and Avery Carr; six
great-grandchildren; her longtime companion, Jimmy Shue; one sister,
Kathleen VanBuskirk of Lyons Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Dolan; three brothers,
Alfred, Robert, and Richard Youngs; and one sister, Janet Youngs.
Sandy later found
a passion for skiing and teaching. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren
along with the youth from the surrounding communities how to ski at Snow
Ridge. For the last 10 years, Sandy
was the manager at the Wax House at Snow Ridge. Besides skiing, Sandy
enjoyed the outdoors and all the activities it had to offer including
golfing in the Tuesday night league at Brantingham Gold Course, swimming,
and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
There will be no
service or calling hours. A private graveside
service will be held at Old Glendale Cemetery at the convenience of the
family. Arrangements are in the care
