Larry is survived by his siblings, Shirley Jaynes of
Rome, Robert and Sandy Bacon of Lowville, Nancy and Charles Harris of
Connecticut, Ronald and Nathy Bacon of Lowville, Sharon Bacon of Lowville,
Laura and Russ Hutchins of Lyons Falls, Sherry and Gary Genito of Belfort;
several nieces, nephews and cousins; his Beyer
family, who he lived with since age 14, including Benny Beyer and his
children, Mike and Wendy Mahoney and family, Rick Beyer and family, Karen
and Mark Houppert and family, and Amy and Kevin Sullivan and family. He is predeceased by a brother, Gerald
Bacon; and a sister, Sally (Raymond) Spencer; and Mary Jane Beyer.
Larry was born on August 14, 1949
in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Maturon L. and
Evelyn M. Bradish Bacon. He attended
Beaver River Central School and worked as a farm hand for many years. Benny and Mary Jane Beyer gave Larry a
home at a young age, where he stayed for his lifetime. He was like a son to Benny and Mary Jane,
and like a brother to their children.
Larry was also known as the “Mayor of Montague”. He loved the Tug
Hill and was well known for traveling on the Rector Road, Gardner Road,
Sears Pond Road, and Liberty Road where he would pop-in to his many friend’s
homes along the way.
Larry loved everybody, and everybody loved him,
especially all his “girlfriends”. Anyone
who met Larry, young or old, had a friend for life. He especially enjoyed the holidays, with all
his family and all the kids, who were very special to him. Larry’s favorite passion was being
outdoors and stalking the almighty big buck. He loved his dogs, Ranger, Max, and many
others, and his grouse Petie who he had for six years.
Larry’s family would like to extend many thanks to
Montague Inn and the Hook and Ladder for looking out for him. If you are ever up to
Montague Inn, ask for the Larry Bacon Burger and a little
suds from a Genny.
Larry may be gone but will never be forgotten. His
spirit will forever be on Tug Hill.
Condolences and
memories may be shared online at www.isenekerfuneralhome.com .
