Description automatically generatedCASTORLAND- Albert C. Owens,80, formerly of State Route 410 in Castorland, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Utica, where he has resided since July 2023.

 

Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home, 5702 Waters Rd, Lowville. The funeral will be said on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Church of Nazarene in Lowville with Pastor Nate Patnode officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Castorland Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Albert’s name may be made to Bethel Church of Nazarene, 7476 NY-12, Lowville, NY 13367.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife LeEtta; a daughter, Dora Owens of Watertown; a son, John Owens of Castorland; a grandson, Nathan Owens of Castorland; two sisters, Wilma Watkins and Carolyn Elford, both of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Timothy and Roger Owens; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Watkins and Marvin Elford.

 

Albert was born on August 16, 1944 in Millington, Michigan, a son of the late John and Jeanette Lumsden Owens.  He graduated from school in Millington and joined the Army, serving in Germany for two years before being honorably discharged.  He met his future wife when he moved to Castorland.  On June 21, 1969, he married LeEtta Zehr at Lowville Mennonite Church, a blessed and loving union of 56 years.  Albert worked as a maintenance man at Country Bob’s, Papa Joe’s, Walmart in Rome and transferring to Walmart in Lowville until his retirement.

 

He was a member of the Bethel Church of Nazarene in Lowville.

 

Albert liked to tinker in the garage. He loved collecting clocks, watching TV, and above all, spending time with his family.
