Philly Cream Cheese Will Attempt to Smash Guinness World Record for Largest Cheesecake at Saturday’s Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville

Lowville, NY- On Saturday, September 21, at the annual Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, NY, the Philadelphia cream cheese brand will attempt to reclaim its GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for Largest Cheesecake right in the hometown of Philly's biggest factory.

 

Philadelphia cream cheese received the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Largest Cheesecake in 2013 (with a seven-foot-wide cheesecake weighing 6,900 pounds unveiled at the Lowville Cream Cheese Festival) and is looking to shatter the current record (set in 2017 by a company in Russia with a 9,300-pound cheesecake that was 9 feet 2 inches in diameter) by more than 5,000 lbs. by creating a 15,000 lb. cheesecake – solidifying its place in world cheesecake supremacy for years to come.

The details of the Philadelphia Cheesecake record-setting attempt include:

    • Goal weight: ~15,000 lbs, equivalent to 10 dairy cows
    • Pan: outside diameter of 11ft., 6in. and an inside diameter of 10ft., 10in.
    • Filling: ~13,500 lbs of Philadelphia's Ready to Eat Cheesecake
    • Crust: over 870 lbs of graham cracker crumbs and over 330 lbs of sugar

 

Following the reveal during the festival on Saturday, September 21, Lieutenant Colonel Adam C. Keller, Commander, 6-6 Air Cavalry Squadron, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division will cut the Philadelphia Cheesecake and slices will be handed out to fans. Festival goers can also take home cheesecake with the remaining donated to the Lowville Food Pantry and Watertown Urban Mission to ensure everyone can enjoy the creamy goodness.
